Planting Seeds

The overwhelming theme of every stage of preparing for this trip has been that God is faithful. In that, I came face to face with my complete dependence upon Him. So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that He would show up in the same way and teach me the same lessons at training camp.  His presence has been so real and tangible over the past few days. I know it seems obvious that He would make Himself known among our team as we prepare to be sent out, but it just reminded me that God doesn’t wait to show up once you’ve flown across an ocean or crossed a border....

God is good, all the time He is GOOD!

God has been so tangible and His presence has been so real at training camp. It is hard to put into words how His spirit has been moving through myself and my teammates. Last night during worship, one of my teammates came and prayed over me while we were worshiping and his prayer filled me with an overwhelming sense of peace and joy. I had no cares, no concerns, no worries, no other thoughts other than worshiping God. He prayed freedom and victory over me and that I would walk freely in grace as a daughter of Christ. Last night was the first time that I freely and openly worshiped God and...

Hey I Just Met You, and This is Crazy…

Leaving my family behind may have been the hardest thing I have ever done. But meeting this new family here in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the best things I've ever done. This team of people that I'm going with to Uganda is absolutely incredible. People so passionate for God that it inspires me every day, and people that I've already grown ridiculously close to in just a few short days. I still can't believe that this trip I've looked forward to for so long is actually happening. I flew to Atlanta, I met my team at the airport, I took a bus to a camp an hour away with...

Keep on Keeping on…

We are officially finished with training camp! In four short days, our team has grown into a family; I'm so very excited to spend the next four months with these beautiful people! Only God could have orchestrated a team of  16 deferent personalities into such a tight knit crew.   In two days I will officially be in Uganda! I am so excited to see what God has in store. I know that crazy things will happen and my life will be completely changed, I am expecting an outpouring of the holy spirit. Having the privilege to spread love over a whole town is a privilege...

Heading Out

Training Camp is over, the teams are ready. Tomorrow, all the Passport teams will head to the airport and fly out to the different nations they will be ministering to for the next four months. I can't wait to see the love and passion that I see in my team poured back into the nation of Uganda. Everyone is anxious and more then ready to go. Keep checking back here, we will be posting blogs as soon as possible once we arrive.

12. final thoughts.

I am home. Is this real life?   Life feels incredibly normal again and Africa feels like a dream.   But I know, as much as it feels normal, I haven't fully begun to process the past 3 1/2 months of my life. People will ask me how was my "experience" or how was my "trip"? But it's not simply a trip, it was my life. My first night at home I woke up at 3:30 am, fully awake and incredibly alone. Going from having 4 roommates, a bed digging into my back, sweating and being tucked in by a mosquito net to being alone, in a bed super comfy, tucked...
