This whole journey has been completely about relying on the Lord, listening to His voice and being obedient to His calling. Everything happened so quickly and chaotically, but this is all in the plan that God has for me. The Lord placed this calling on my heart, and I applied to Adventures in Missions one day before the application deadline was due. The next day I was interviewed, got accepted 24 hours later and finished raising my support the day before I left for my trip. At one of our sessions Jimmy  was talking about how some of us have probably come to a point already where we are completely freaked out and have no idea what we’ve gotten ourselves into. He used the analogy of snow skiing and getting on the chair lift to get to the top of the mountain and that’s the time we realize that this is “the point of no return”. In order to get to the bottom of the mountain, you just have the ski down. But when you’re standing at the top you immediately regret this decision and feel completely unprepared for this.       Training camp has been a good experience, but the best times I have had in the last few days is when I get alone with God. The first night we slept in a homeless shelter after spending a few hours out on the streets on Atlanta doing ministry. On Sunday we traveled to camp where we have had great times of worship and teaching. It has been fun to get to know my team and I am excited to see what God will do through and in us- all for his glory! We are leaving tomorrow morning for the airport!!!!!!! In Christ, Kaitlyn Joy

Turns out the combination of slow, measured movements and tiny last-minute hitches was just too much. I got to the airport around 5:55 AM, but that was about 30 seconds too late. Delta Airlines requires all passengers to print their boarding passes at home or print them in the airport no later than 30 minutes before their flight departs: I was SO close. A helpful man got me a seat on the next available flight (departing at 1pm), so my friends drove me home and we all got some much-needed sleep, although I made sure I was plenty early for my next flight. We made  it! Our team is perfect. I can't wait to see what the Lord does in and through us in the next four months. God is so good to have already started a good work in each of us in these past four days. Whether it be having to work as a team, discussing our differences or praying, our God is bonding us in Him. The past couple months before leaving, the Lord kept speaking to me about the dead being raised. Not only spiritually dead, but the physically dead coming to life to show the glory of the Lord.
