When God Speaks Life Happens

I have SOO incredibly much to say about training camp. However, I have a limited time frame in which I can say it. Therefore, I'm just going to hit a couple of the highlights. Don't worry, they're kind of phenomenal highlights! Most of my family and friends back home know that when I left town 3 days ago, I was sick, horribly sick. I came down with a sudden head cold and due to some medicine I was taking, I was up the whole night before I was supposed to fly out of Memphis. Through much prayer, and I'm so thankful for that prayer, I am CONSIDERABLY better now! All that...

So you’re from Canada eh?

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet, because lets face it i'm not really the blogger type… so we're just gonna ease into this. Well for starters, training camp is not exactly what I expected. It has in fact been better! I not only have been prepared mentally for Uganda, but emotionally as well. My team is nothing short of amazing and we have all come together and are beginning to become a family. One thing that is a common topic is Canada v.s the U.S.  They are constantly talking about things that i have never heard of, and have come to the conclusion that the United...

Sweet Dreams ARE Made of These!

Approximately 72 hours ago 11 starry eyed young adults began trickling into the Atlanta airport to embark on the biggest adventure of their lives. 4 months in a third world country with complete strangers, if that isn't complete and utter craziness I don't know what is. We had all seen each other on facebook, which helped keep the awkwardness to a minimum. We were all overflowing with joy, excitiment, and even some nerves as we headed out to load our luggage into the vans. After spending Friday night wandering around the cold Atlanta streets we headed into the middle of nowhere...

You Roar

Fear is something that has always held me back. It is something that I let control me sometimes and it can tend to stop me from doing things that God has for me. It has seemed like at training camp, this is something that kept coming up for me. Not necessarily the fear of going to Uganda, but the fear of leaving behind everyone at home, the fear of spending 4 months with complete strangers, the fear of not knowing what God has for me, and so many more fears. It seems to all boil down to fear. I hate that I let fear control me, i hate that it often decides for me whether or not I will do...

HOTlanta

Hey everyone, actually it's been really cold here in Georgia but it's been an awesome weekend here in the wilderness of Georgia! I've met a ton of awesome people while being here, especially my team mates. They are some great people of God and I can't wait to spend the next 4 months living in community with them.       This weekend has definitely been fun getting to know some people but God has also done a lot on my heart this weekend and I've really been able to let go of some things that I've been holding on to for honestly way too long. So...

1 Day 5 Hours 55 Minutes & 50 Seconds…

…Until my team is all together in Atlanta! SO I wanted to write to say a quick hello and thank you for reading up on what God is doing in my life and the lives of my teammates! I hope that our inadequate words touch your lives! To my generous supporters, thank you for allowing yourselves to be used as a part of God's provision for this trip! Your support financially and/or prayerfully is going to be used by God to reach into the lives of His people in Uganda. I'm so thrilled that  you are a part of that with me! I'm officially all packed…well, mostly! I'm...
