Coming to training camp I was expecting to learn about Uganda. I thought I would learn about what ministry I would be a part of and what cultural experiances to expect. Wow. What a whirlwind past couple days. I have been challenged, strengthened, and greatly encouraged by my time at training camp here in Georgia. I don't have time to share it all with you, so let me tell you about my most important experiences. First off: Jesus is just so stinkin' amazing. This whole living in community thing has been much harder and much more amazing than I had anticipated. And we haven't even gotten to Uganda yet! I'm learning how to get alone time while not actually being alone. It's quite an art. Training camp has exceeded my expectations-mainly because I didn't know what to expect- but it's been awesome. Approximately 72 hours ago 11 starry eyed young adults began trickling into the Atlanta airport to embark on the biggest adventure of their lives. 4 months in a third world country with complete strangers, if that isn't complete and utter craziness I don't know what is. We had all seen each other on facebook, which helped keep the awkwardness to a minimum.
