FAST

A couple days ago we decided to do a team fast. Some fasted from sarcasm, talking badly about themselves, guarding their heart, and many of us fasted from food. I was one who fasted from food. This was my first time fasting food and the Lord completely opened my eyes to something new. We started at 6pm Monday and ended 6pm Tuesday. Throughout the day whenever I thought about eating or just food I went straight into prayer for the two ladies that the Lord has completely broken my heart for back home. I prayed for the Lord to do great things within them and for all the walls to be broken down...

Overwhelmed…

…simply by the Lord's goodness. Do ya'll remember the little children who helped me pick weeds in Popia's garden?Well, the Lord has left Oliver, Garby, Melissa, Ruth, and Jonathan on my heart. I've gone back to see them many times since that day. I actually have a prayer request, and I'm asking you to pray with conviction and to truly believe that the Lord is Healer. Little Jonathan has some sort of disease on his feet and he's in so much pain, yet he still has the biggest smile on his face.  I can't really go into too much detail about all that...

Scrubs and Mercy

Hey everyone! I’m really sorry it’s been so long since I last blogged! I am doing so great and I’ve loved hearing everyone’s comments! I am seriously loving life in Uganda and I can’t believe we only have a few more weeks left in Lira. My new favorite outfit is African hospital scrubs! I have been going to a hospital and working with Dr. Opio. It started out as a great opportunity to watch surgeries, but then it turned into scrubbing in and assisting in surgeries. So far I’ve assisted in 2 appendectomies and a hysterectomy. I never could have imagined I...

Malaria is like a cold in the US- very common. 7. Cows, chickens, and goats share the road too. 8. Barefeet are the usual footwear. 9. 13 children in one family is common 10. Roads consist of dirt and impossible potholes 11. School...

The cry of my heart is to bring You praise

This weekend I had the privilege of singing with the praise and worship team on sunday and it was awesome! Not only to sing with them but to fellowship with them and get to know their hearts, these men and women are amazing! Their services are at 6am and 8am so we had to leave our compound at about 5:30. As we were driving I noticed tons and tons of people on the sides of the roads walking with their children to church.   Just to kind of put things in perspective for you so you can paint more of a picture, the women here carry their babies on their backs, its completely dark...

Attention Prayer Warriors

Meet Jenna. Jenna is a precious woman in her late 60's who is a widow, a mother, a grandmother, care taker, and provider. Just one look at her and you can tell she is a fighter. She is strong, brave, hardened by life and has an incredible story to be told. I met Jenna when our team went door to door evangilizing to the community. We stopped at a group of about 6 women and just began conversing with them and asking them if they were "born agains" as they call them here and what their relationships with Jesus looks like. When Jenna was asked this question she said very...
