Heading Out

Training Camp is over, the teams are ready. Tomorrow, all the Passport teams will head to the airport and fly out to the different nations they will be ministering to for the next four months. I can't wait to see the love and passion that I see in my team poured back into the nation of Uganda. Everyone is anxious and more then ready to go. Keep checking back here, we will be posting blogs as soon as possible once we arrive.

Here’s a Suuuups Long Blog<3

If you know me at all, you know of my heart for Camp Men-O-Lan and Crossroads organization. Crossroads is a tiny building located in the rough of Philadelphia that provides a safe, Jesus-centered environment for kids to come after school and in the summer, to keep them off the streets. They send groups of kids to camp every year and in my first summer working there, in 2010, God unveiled my passion for these hard-to-love city kids that I felt so drawn to. As I stepped foot on the grounds of our new ministry organization, Atin Afrika last week, I felt a warmth. Atin Afrika is a newborn...

Mornings

There is beauty in giving all of yourself to God. And there is freedom. Mornings are my favorite part of the day. My mornings go like this: Wake up, Brush my lil teethies, Get a sweater, Get a cup of hot tea, & sit outside in the Presence of my Creator. Having my Jesus time in the morning is something I've surprisingly never done…(or accomplished for more than a day or two) and I know that if it wasn't for being here in Uganda, I would not be doing this now. But after falling so hard in the beginning of this trip, I realized I needed to do something and realize that God...

Hope Is Alive

One of my favorite things about traveling is experiencing God's presence in all different kinds of places. It's so easy to put God in a box- to put Him in the church, or summer camp, or the state of Pennsylvania, or even the continent of North America, but how quickly He bursts out of that box. The first time I forreal experienced this overwhelming excitement about this realization (sorr for all the super big words!) was when I was touring Europe earlier this summer. It just randomly struck me one day, that the same God that was transforming kids' lives back home at camp, was...

Safe in the middle of danger

My first thoughts after stepping foot in the Lira prison were the complete opposite thoughts I expected to have. I felt peace..hope..and the  overwhelming love of Christ. Not for one second did I feel unsafe. Two of our translators preached the gospel and the response was shocking. Many began to stand up and worship..others shared their testimonies. 2 SALVATIONS…and many that needed the prayer of healing. One boy’s piercing eyes and crossed arms caught my attention. I felt his heart was hardened but yet interested. I wanted nothing more than to go and have a conversation...

Your Faithfulness Reaches to the Sky

August 27th– September 5th, 2012 It’s hard to believe that my dream of coming to Africa has become real, tangible, alive. After four insane days in training, and the longest, most unexpected and slightly exhausting journey of my life, we are now here in this beautiful city in Uganda and that’s all that matters. God has been so incredibly faithful. Favorite experiences so far: -The most insane worship I’ve ever experienced at training camp- experiencing the Holy Spirit like I never even would have imagined possible, learning amazing new songs and praising God with all...
