Its About Time

Hello errrbody!! I know its takin me awhile to actually blog but finding internet that works and time to use it is like Shaq shootin free throws. Its not very pretty. But anyway, I have been making many friends here, especially at the schools weve been working with. I learned how to count to 31 in their language up here. I have no idea what its called. I this past Wednesday i spoke to about 20 people at the church for lunch hour prayer. I spoke on the importance of having clean hands and a pure and heart from Psalms 24. Jesus loves Uganda.

Uganda is beautiful. The people are beautiful. Yesterday, I was riding with my team to teach/play at a school and I felt the biggest burden since being here. I think I was prepared for the poverty and injustice because I saw it in mozambique. Honestly, my heart was a little hardened until yesterday. Why? Why do women have to carry their baby miles and miles on bike to fetch water? Why don't people have enough money to educate, feed, clothe or shelter their children? Let Me be Free to be Lovely

Sitting in the Atlanta airport, sipping my final Starbuck's iced-soy-mocha-with-an-extra-shot-and-less-ice-and-a-pump-of-coconut for the next two months, I turned around to witness a little girl dancing on a row of airport chairs in front of a massive window facing the plane. True Servants of the Lord

Last Sunday, was the last time we visited the men's prison. It was so sad to see their long faces, when we told them we were leaving. We donated 3 Bibles in the Luo language, because they were in desperate need of them. I have never seen people so happy to receive Bibles. They said it was a miracle and praised God. Yet many of us have them sitting at home, on our coffee tables…collecting dust.   There are 3 people: Rose, Joyce, and Pastor Alfred who have been visiting the prisoners and showing them God's love for 15 years. Rose and Joyce walk 45 minutes to the...

Attention Parents and Supporters!

May 2, 2011. Early this morning news broke that US officials announced that Osama Bin Laden was killed late last night in Pakistan. The US State Department issued a worldwide travel advisory for all US citizens abroad, anticipating the possibility of retaliatory violence by Bin Laden sympathizers. While none of our Real Life teams are in high-threat areas, we have been in contact with them to keep them aware of ongoing events and to be sure they are all safe.
