I AM still IS.

As I began to think of this trip and the “stories” I would tell, I realized I had none. I don't have a story of Jesus multiplying food, the blind seeing, the dead being raised, the deaf hearing…yet. I began to be frustrated. What would I tell the people? Has it been worth it? Of course it has because Jesus still loves His people. I've seen His love in so many people. The church, the hotel where I am staying, the market where I buy my clothes. Jesus loves His people. All is well with the world because God is still God. Creator of the Heavens, God. Speaks and life...

Better late than never!!

So we have been in Lira for almost two weeks now and so far it has been so good.  Our team is still growing and getting to know each other but its really cool watching how God is working in everyone and growing them, myself included.  I am definitely looking forward to what God is going to do here the rest of the summer and what he is going to continue doing after we leave.             The different ministry opportunities we have been involved with so far have been encouraging.  Seeing how even before we got here these kids are being brought...

That Much More

God’s ways are not our own. This statement could not be even truer in my life.      If someone had told me to 3 years ago to tell them what I would be doing this summer, I never would have told them I would be digging out wells, building mud huts, holding African children as they marveled at my “Mzungu” hair, or that I would be a social work major considering teaching abroad. I would never have considered myself capable enough, equipped, or even chosen enough. Little did I know then, at age 16, how chosen I am.      Since...

Computers in Uganda?

I have an amazing time in Lira Uganda! One of the best ministries I have been involved in would be working with the media for the church victory outreach! I was given the opportunity to go do a film shoot with a guy named Eric. It was so much fun to get to ride on his motorcycle to the shoot! After we got there we were able to take lots of different angles of the seens. This next week I will be showing him so new editing techniques to put together a final project. Eric has been doing lots of projects to help raise awarness for Africa! I was so amazed and happy that I could be involved in a...

Beauty

This country is beautiful. The scenery, the people, everything. We have been working in Kyampisi for a week now, and already so much change is happening. Change is happening, and it is happening for God. Change that is freeing. Change that is bringing joy. Change that is beautiful. I had many expectations when I applied for this trip to Uganda, but I didn't expect the change that would happen in myself. Many new experiences were presented to me before our team even left the country. Training week was full of worship, prayer, and team bonding. Our team, including me, have had our eyes...

God is NOT Dead

Sorry this has taken so long! I’ve now been in Lira for a week, and I am loving it! This blog was supposed to be posted during training camp, so here it is: Over the past few days, I have realized that my life has not been declaring the fact that my God is ALIVE and active. But I have been living my life and interacting with God as if He was dead.I would ask Him for things and believe I wouldn’t receive them. I would tell Him I needed Him to speak to me, but I never expected to hear anything. During my time at training camp, I have discovered that my God is not dead. And He...
