Pure Passion

Pure Passion                 Growing up, I’ve always noticed people who have a true passion for the Lord. In the U.S. we truly have so much to thank God, so many things that we seem to forget how good we have it. In the nation of Uganda, however, there’s a much different story.               In Uganda, people’s basic needs are sometimes not even met. It truly makes you want to praise to be an American, but that’s not what this message is all...

Faith Like a Child

One of our weekly ministries is going to a boarding school for 4-13 years olds. There are a few students who are older then 13 but thats because they were previously child soldiers so they lost those years that they should have spent in school. We get the opportunity to play and pour into over 200 kids. The last 30 minutes of our time is spent in prayer and worship. Listening to 200 kids worship and cry out to God is quite possibly one of the most powerful and amazing sounds on earth. I am not talking about the typical kids in the U.S. who have way to much energy and jump around...

Humbled to Joyfulness

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4   My alarm went off at about 5 AM.  Obviously still way too tired, I hit the snooze button a couple times before finally getting out of bed at around 5:15.  Not in the best mood, I brushed my teeth and got dressed before walking outside into the pitch black darkness, the sun not rising for another 45 minutes or so.  We were all ready to leave at 5:45, but unfortunately, our driver, Patrick, overslept, and we ended up waiting around in the dark for 15 or 20 minutes before leaving around 6.  We...

Awake and Alive

This Tuesday, we were praying that God would give us words of encouragement for each other. I've really done anything like this before, and I started believing that, this is just crazy, God only speaks through the word. I prayed and I prayed for God to show me if this was true or not. As I was praying, one of the guys on the team explained to  us that he has a strong urge to speak in tongues. I've always believed that this was a dead gift, but I encouraged him to try if he feels right about it. He prayed about and told he really wanted to worship, we all agreed so, thats what...

Holy Spirit Party!

I don't really even have a lot of words to say about it, but I just thought you should know that God and the Spirit have been moving and working in our team here in Uganda.  A couple days ago, we had a time of worship, and the Spirit just fell.  One guy spoke in tongues for the first time.  Another guy broke down in worship at the revelation that God does still speak to Him.  And another girl broke down in worship at the revelation that the gift of tongues is not dead.   And all of that doesn't even include the amazing morning of ministry we had, which I...
