August 27th– September 5th, 2012
It’s hard to believe that my dream of coming to Africa has become real, tangible, alive. After four insane days in training, and the longest, most unexpected and slightly exhausting journey of my life, we are now here in this beautiful city in Uganda and that’s all that matters. God has been so incredibly faithful.
Favorite experiences so far:
-The most insane worship I’ve ever experienced at training camp- experiencing the Holy Spirit like I never even would have imagined possible, learning amazing new songs and praising God with all of my heart with a hundred strangers from all over the country
– Taking a train and walking around in the city of Amsterdam at sunrise, with the most incredible fall-weather, getting Starbs and dying of happiness, because it was such a beautiful taste of my favorite season that I’m missing this year
-Staying in a super rugged hostile in Nairobi, Kenya, something that I’ve always wanted to do, so that was the sweetest surprise evaa
-Waiting five hours for our bus in a sketchy alley in Nairobi; Haddie playing guitar<3 and squady-ing in the most indescribably -everything bad in the world- squady every half hour in case the bus would come…it never would…def. my fave experience so far<3
-Finally arriving in Lira, after thirty one hours of bus…most amazing feeling in the world.
-Getting settled in, meeting the people that we will be working with these next four months, pushing some lil kiddies on the swings and dreaming about all that is going to come<3
Discoveries/Pressing Thoughts:
-God is more real, powerful, alive and present than I ever thought/imagined/believed. I’m beginning to meet a new side of Him and it’s overwhelmingly amazing
-God is just so faithful. And I just keep repeatingly experiencing His faithfulness. It rules.
So thankful for our team, which consists of eleven the most completely different, but perfect people, safe travels, and for all of your prayers back home! It's amazing to finally be here and I'm so excited for all that God has in store! I don't know how to end this without being super awk, so yeah:) dslkasjalkasdklajds thank you & love!
