Patrick the golden fish

well hello there! I'm sending you warm greetings from the Pearl of Africa! But for real, it's warm and sunny today 🙂 First I'll give ya an update on some things I did this past week, then the rest of this post is dedicated to one of the good friends I've made here.

June 27th-Today at lunch hour prayer I saw little Immanuel, and he said his first word to me!–"Kope" which means, "I am fine." Then I picked him up and my friend Tony started playing music on the keyboard, and I slowdanced with Immanuel as he slowly fell asleep on me. I LOVE the Lord so much and thank Him for that precious experience. Later that afternoon we did hut-to-hut ministry and met a very old woman named Norah. She has been blind for 2 years and her grandchildren care for her since her children were killed. It was such a joy to sing praise songs and dance with her! I love that someday her sight will be fully restored and she'll see the face of the Lord.

June 28th-We went to the Alpha Primary School today, but we were only there for about an hour because our van broke down so many times…It was really nice to talk with children and teach them english words and to also talk about America with the teachers.

June 29th-Some of us were planning on going to a Children's home to teach them art lessons, but the Lord had other plans because the van was still broken…but you know, it was a great day with my sisters in Christ and I feel like I know them even better than I did before.

Alright, now I'm gonna tell you about my good friend Patrick 🙂 He drives us EVERYWHERE here in Uganda. He is a true servant and he serves with JOY. He reminds me so much of my father in the way he fixes things and helps EVERYONE. He has a lovely wife and son, and he loves them so much. He is so positive all the time and he is a true encourager of our team. After spending an entire day trying to fix the van, I asked, "Patrick, are you okay?" and his response was, "No please." Hahaha, it just amazes me that he is still so polite even when he's stressed out. He's definitely had a huge impact on my heart and attitude and I thank the Lord so much for introducing me to him.
I'm off to take a nap in the sun because I sang on the praise team at the 6am service 😀 Then tonight we'll go to the Young Adult fellowship meeting. I seriously can't believe we only have 2.5 weeks left 🙁

Oh and Darby, I'm not sure if you'll read this, but here's a shout-out for you!–The Alpha workers say to me, "Baby Aly, you're like crazy baby Darby..you love service and you're so stubborn!" (and just an fyi for everyone, "stubborn" here means something like crazy-funny) 🙂
