Humble Servant and Children of God Part Two

Humble Servant and Children of God Part Two

First off, I would like to proclaim, “What an awesome God we serve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” God is reveling so much to this team and me. I’m so amazed on how much my eyes have been open since I’ve been here. One way God is teaching me is through the children of Uganda.

On Thursday, the team and I were working with the group, Child Development Center, or CDC for short. We have done many things in service to them, like, paperwork, handing out supplies for the children, and play with the children and giving them a helping hand. Well, on this day, we were helping the CDC buy and sort food supplies for the children who are HIV positive.

Sorting these was pretty stressful, make sure the bags of sugar don’t rip or the eggs don’t break. Well, we finished sorting them and then we realized, we put the supplies in the wrong area!!!!! We started to pick them up and carefully move them to what we thought was the best place to hold them. Well, as we were doing this, some children, came and help us move them. I was thinking to myself, “Oh, these kids are just expecting a reward for this or something.” But God kind of had a, hey Craig!!!! Watch this moment. The kids just wanted to help. They humbled themselves to help. I was so ashamed in the way I was thinking. The Lord sent those kids to show me about being a humble servant.

I pray now, just like these young children have taught me, I would be more humbling when I do service to others.  So, now I leave you with this passage.

Matthew 18:1-4 “At the time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, who ever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
