Being Thankful.

"Black Friday…Because only in America people trample others for sales exactly one day after being thankful for what they have already"-Unknown

In no way, shape, or form am I against people who shop on black friday. I love sales on black friday.

Sooo. It's friday. Thanksgiving has come and go, and now you are back on with your normal life routine. The question I challenge you with is this, "Are you still thankful?" Because you should be. Don't let Thanksgiving be the only day that you are aware of how blessed you truly are. This trip has opened my eyes and made me SO thankful for everything that I have. So, I'm going to share with you things that you may think are small, but that you should be thankful for. Because here in Uganda, these things are a rarity.

  • You own shoes.
  • You can turn on your sink and clean water comes out of it.
  • The fact that you have a sink, and don't have to walk miles to go find unclean water.
  • That the power in America is stinkin' awesome. And it doesn't randomley go out for days for no reason.
  • Roads that the government maintains, that are mostly paved.
  • Internet
  • Clean Clothes
  • A cell phone so that you can talk to people when you need to
  • Washing Machines
  • Stoves, microwaves, dishwashers..exc.
  • Air conditioning/heaters
  • That mosquitos don't carry Malaria
  • Variety and diversity of foods
  • That people speak English
  • That AIDS is not common at all in America
  • That Jesus died on the cross for you, and for me. So even if you don't have any of those things above that I mentioned, you at least can dwell in the fact that you are forgiven, and loved by the King.

Remember how blessed you are today. Remember that everyone doesn't always have the luxuries that you do.
