Plateau on a mountain top.

Before I left for Uganda everyone was telling me "you're never going to be the same again" or "you're life is going to be flipped upside down ".  In a lot of ways those words are true. I definitely have a larger appreciation for the things I took for granted. Drinking water from the sink, stove tops, and garbage service to name a few. Those are the things you never really learn the value of until you are forced to live without. I definitely have learned a lot about improvisation.  We are two weeks in and things have been rather different, but I very...

We are Home!

It is day 4 here in Rukingiri and I am lovng it! We havent started ministry yet, but we have been provided with the opportunity to enter into the town and shop at the markets and build relationships with the shop owners and locals.    Yesterday a few of my teammates and I were walking all around town looking for food and people to talk to. I had so much fun exploring and experiencing what africa has to offer. One of my favorite hilights of the day was when we were buying some vegitables, a group of about 8 children ran up and attacked us wth hugs and smiles. All I could think...

I’M SO EXCITED!!!

My buddy Marrie makes fun of me a lot because i always say I'm so excited. But its the truth. I am so excited for all God has done and is doing and is going to do. Oh Man!!! So first of all training camp was amazing. I didn't know you could grow so much spiritually in just 3 days. But let me tell ya, it happened!  Before then i never would have spoken to a stranger, much less prayed for them. But on the plane i asked some random man if i could pray for him, JUST BECAUSE GOD TOLD ME TO! That may not seem like much but that is a big stinkin deal/ And now we are in Africa....

Already Feels Like Home

It is extremely hard to believe that we arrived in Rukungiri, Uganda only 2 days ago. So much has happened since then, and I feel so at home, that it feels like we've been here forever. It is even harder to believe that our team has only been together for a week. It feels like I've lost the concept of time, because within one week, I have experienced more of life than I think I ever have in my 19 years of life. I travelled all by myself, bonded with people I had never met in a way that only God could have orchestrated, I crossed the ocean for the first time, stepped foot in...

Safe and Sound Rukungiri!

Hello friends and family! The team has safetly arrived at our new home for the next 4 months in Rukungiri! Flights went well, and we even got to see some snow in Germany. There is a World Race team here for our first week and they have already showed us the best places to shop and places to go. Most everyone is back at the house taking a nap due to some jet lag, but everyone is healthy and happy 🙂 Be looking for more blogs in the next few days as we settle in and start ministry. Thanks for all the prayers! much love, Julie
