Attention Parents and Supporters!

May 2, 2011. Early this morning news broke that US officials announced that Osama Bin Laden was killed late last night in Pakistan. The US State Department issued a worldwide travel advisory for all US citizens abroad, anticipating the possibility of retaliatory violence by Bin Laden sympathizers. While none of our Real Life teams are in high-threat areas, we have been in contact with them to keep them aware of ongoing events and to be sure they are all safe.

My Friend Betty

A few weeks ago, some of the women on our team went to visit the women in prison. It all started when we were praying for patients, in the Tuberculosis ward, in the hospital. Some of the patients in the ward were from the prison across the street. This is when I met Betty, she is a guard from the women's prison. We told her we were there to pray for the patients, and she invited us to come to the prison and bring some encouragement to the women.   Betty and I became instant friends. After our visit to the prison, she asked when I would see her again. So we made...

I Never Lose Anything

At home, I’m a champ at doing laundry.  I’m great at sorting lights from reds from darks.  I’m usually really good at remembering to put detergent in the washing machine.  I rarely forget to take my clothes out of the washer to put them into the dryer.  Ok, so maybe I’m not a champ, but I’m certainly not bad at it.  I mean, no one has ever corrected me on how to do laundry.     There are no washing machines where we’re staying.  We do our laundry in buckets with powder detergent.  The detergent we bought...

This Would Never Have Happened Without You

I praise God for the awesome things He has done since we have been in Africa:    * We would just walk into someone's house, and they were already prepared to accept Christ. The harvest was ready and plentiful. Many people were saved and lead to the Lord. * God provided the money for us to dig a well for the church, and add an addition to the pastor's house, for missionaries to stay in.  *We were able to provide 3 months of wages for 12-13 widows.  *We prayed for people in the hospital and 2 days later the ward was almost completely empty. * We have...
