      Freedom.             As Americans freedom is a word we toss around with out much thought. It doesn’t have a whole lot of meaning to us outside of the fact that we are free, that our ancestors defeated the English winning us our independence. But free from what? Free to live our lives as we please?         Yes, but free from fear?  From guilt? Do we really have the freedom to do what we believe is right? Or are we trapped in our own prisons of fear. The fear of trying something but failing....

Safe in Uganda!

We just spoke with the team leaders and they've all arrived safely in Uganda.  They are in route to their ministry sites and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their hosts.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. For Your name’s sake, you lead me and guide me.

The last 4 days have been a whirlwind of emotions. God has moved more in my heart in the past 4 days than He has in the past 3 months. Training camp has been an amazing learning experience and a great time to bond with my team mates. This journey started with a 2 hour bus ride with a 50 pound bag in my lap for half the journey with complete strangers. After we arrived at our camp we were told to pick 3 items out of our bags and that's all we would have til the morning. We then made a shelter out of 2 tarps and spent the night under the Tennesse night sky.  It showed me early on...

Flight Change

Hey family and friends of team Uganda, We wanted to let you know that the team has encountered some changes with their flights home.  Due to cancelled flights, most of the team was unable to fly out this evening from Nairobi on their scheduled flight.  They have been rebooked on the next flight out, which is 24 hours later.  There were 3 of the team (Ashlee, Lacey, and Cameron) who are still travelling on the original itinerary with Team Kenya and their leaders.  Nothing about their travel plans have changed.  However, the remainder of the team is staying at the...

True Servants of the Lord

Last Sunday, was the last time we visited the men's prison. It was so sad to see their long faces, when we told them we were leaving. We donated 3 Bibles in the Luo language, because they were in desperate need of them. I have never seen people so happy to receive Bibles. They said it was a miracle and praised God. Yet many of us have them sitting at home, on our coffee tables…collecting dust.   There are 3 people: Rose, Joyce, and Pastor Alfred who have been visiting the prisoners and showing them God's love for 15 years.
