Psalm 91

This passage was meant for our team. The first night of training camp we went all around Atlanta and talked to people. One guy we met was names Gregory Allen Q. We talked with him for a while, told him why we were out wandering Atlanta, and how we were going to Uganda and towards the end, he shared two passages with us, Psalm 91 and Psalm 121. We prayed with him, and went our separate ways. A few days later during one of our team meetings at training camp, Robby, our leader read Psalm 91 to us. Then after our last worship night session, the worship leader from the weekend asked to talk to...

Humble Servent

Jesus calls us all to be servents for others. This past Monday, my teamates and I did just that. We.dicided that we need to serve the staff at the hotel that we are stay at.Some of us cleaned our rooms, helped with laundry, I personally cooked supper for the team and the staff. Just as Jesus commands us to do, be a humble servent to others first, and accept service second       Sorry for the short blog, but again the Lord has revieled to me what he has called me to do the rest of my life. Not giving the details till later....

Radio Time

When our leaders read off our ministry opportunities, and I heard the words “preaching on the radio” my eyes lit up. You must be thinking I bet this guy really enjoys talking to people if he got excited about speaking to hundreds of thousands of people at a time. Well, your thoughts would be wrong. Actually, I hate speaking to crowds of people, but for some reason when radio ministry was brought up, I was the first to volunteer. Why, you ask? Well I find myself asking the same question. I first thought that the God we serve has a...

Prayer

Prayer is powerful.  This is something our team has come to realize more and more with each passing day.  We now spend a lot of time together praying about … well, everything.  We have seen how much you really can do through praying.  We have seen our teammates emotionally healed from past pain and regrets; we have seen eleven men come to Jesus in the same hour all because we prayed for it; and little boys cured of malaria.   Every week we visit the regional referral hospital.  During that time, we find out what some of the patients have been struggling...

A Simple Tour

Every Tuesday afternoon, we go to Fountain Boarding and Primary School, a local school for kids aged 6 to 14.  As soon as our van pulls up to the school, it’s like a bunch of preteen girls who’ve seen Justin Bieber’s limousine.  The monos (white people) have arrived, and the children are more than excited.  When we step out of the van, we’re instantly mobbed, especially my 3 male teammates and me.  Shouts of “Pick me up!” are heard as they pull and climb on us.  I now fully know what it is like to be an African jungle gym. ...

the luxory of doubt

At home, faith has often felt like a choice. Here it is a necessity. The things I chose to fall back on education, family, a home were my first line of defense against fear. They were my strongholds. My trust in God offered some sense of comfort but for the most part what I owned and who I had by me were my securities. If I was in trouble or in need I could always get back on my feet. I was secure in my possessions, in my abilities and in my relationships. So many in Uganda have only God as their security and I've been questioning what it would be like if I truly relied on God for...
