Humble Servant and Children of God Part Two

Humble Servant and Children of God Part Two               First off, I would like to proclaim, “What an awesome God we serve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” God is reveling so much to this team and me. I’m so amazed on how much my eyes have been open since I’ve been here. One way God is teaching me is through the children of Uganda.               On Thursday, the team and I were working with the group, Child Development Center, or CDC for short. We have done many...

How Stella Got My Groove Back

By now, if you’ve been reading our blogs, you’ve heard about our dear friend Stella, A graceful and chipper woman that lives a short walk down the dirt road from us. We have been visiting her frequently over the past month and a half, but the last visit really struck a chord with me. In the days before our visit I hadn’t been feeling well and I really didn’t have a joyful attitude about much of anything. Now, there is something you should know about Stella. She has an absolutely adorable laugh and the most joyful attitude I’ve ever seen- both of which are...

Dancing for Joy

So, back in August God gave me a vision, below is a journal entry of what I saw:   God was sitting at a small simple wooden table pouring Himself into a piece of paper. "I'll make her eyes blue." He said, and He continued to describing this girl He was drawing. He was extremely excited about this girl on the paper. I've never seen someone that excited. Soon He wasn't able to contain Himself and was no longer sitting, but dancing around the table. Then Jesus comes in to see what the Father is excited about. "Jesus! Come look at who I...

Stella’s Joy

I am daily astonished by the people we have met here Uganda.  Monday this week was an amazing day for us as a team, because we got so much encouragement from the Ugandans we have met and been ministering to. I’ve already told you about Quinto and how his dream had come true, but I have yet to tell you about Stella and how God is working with her. Stella is a woman we met during our first week in Uganda.  One morning, we decided to go on a prayer walk.  While we were on our prayer walk, God kept telling us which direction to go, and who to pray for as we passed...

A Forgotten People

Ok, so I know at least one other person has already written about our prison ministry here but it means a lot to me, so one more prison blog comin’ up!   I have had a passion for the least of these for a long time, you know, widows, orphans, the poor, and the prisoners… the prisoners? They usually aren’t the first category of the least of these that peoples’ hearts go out to. They are guilty of crime and deserve punishment. They have hurt people and lived selfishly. On the other hand, who of us can say he/she hasn’t done the same? We all deserve...

All I Want is to be Clean!!!

On Monday we decided we were going to spend the day serving the Alpha Resort Hotel staff (Alpha is our home here in Uganda). After asking the Lord what that looked like we split off to serve. One of the services us girls felt we were to do was help the African ladies do laundry. We found out that we were doing it wrong, so the ladies taught we the right way. It's kind of hard to explain how they do it, so please ask me how when I get home and I'll show/tell you. Anyway, the whole time God kept reminding me of a passage in Isaiah that says: "Wash and make yourselves...
