Who am I?

So this was something I wrote in my journal a few days ago.  I’m just taking it straight from my journal.  My thoughts in their realness.    Who am I?  I’m a child of God who is loved by Him so much.  I’m a man of God who loves God with all my heart and wants to give my all in order to run after His heart.  I’m a warrior who’s ready to fight for the kingdom to come down to earth.  I’m a leader who has been called and equipped by God and who has everything he needs in Christ.  I’m a leader who will find...

No More Complaints

Acts 16:22-28 “The crowd joined in the attack of Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be flogged and beaten. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were...

I Won’t Back Down

One of the many things to do as a Christian, is just do what you are called to do. Sometimes Satan will, try to stop you but you need to persevere through that, and continue what the Lord called you to. This past Sunday, I did just that.      For the longest time, God has been telling me to sing in church. I prayed about this, because, speaking, much less singing in church, is not something I’m extremely comfortable with. God told me I need to speak with Pastor Johnson, our ministry contact, about it. I found him outside his home and talked to him about it, and he got very...

An Unexpected Ministry

The last thing I expected ws this kind of ministry in Africa. But kids are kids no matter where you are in the world. So, it's fitting to have this ministry. It started our second visit to the Fountain Nursery Primary School. I don't know why they started, maybe because they were shy, but whatever the reason I am greatful they started. What is this ministry? Note passing. Yep, these precious kids (usually who are 9-14) write us notes and wait anxiously to read our reply the next time we visit. The best part of this is that we can forever keep the notes they give us. I want to...

Let It Rain

I love Uganda. Except for the heat. I've come to Uganda at the wrong time. You see, I am from Minnesota, and as much as I want to discourage stereotypes, it seems my cold Minnesotan flesh simply cannot handle the heat. So why did I decide to go to Africa when the dry season is beginning and the rainy season is sadly waving goodbye? Good question. We have been pretty lucky so far, though. We don't go more than a few days without rain to cool the weather down, but the days inbetween our thunderstorms are turning miserable and awful. Sometimes when I lay in bed at night and ralize...

Boredom does things to you

Boredom will get you here in Africa. I can’t tell you how many times I thought I was going to go crazy from the simple fact that I was bored. There are days when it feels like hours have gone by and it’s actually only been a couple of minutes. Since there is so much boredom, we have to come up with things to kill the time. Boredom=Creativity, so here’s a few of the games we have come up with.   “Hey Goat” Game: So with this game, you’re trying to get an animal to look at you after you yell at it. So when we are walking or driving and we spot an...
