Uncle Jack and Orphans

Hi there friends and family! Oonano Moonoo, (I see a white person!) has become my most-heard phrase, haha!
This may be brief but well worth the read J So, after serving at the church, we started walking back to the place we’re staying and one of our members fell down. An elderly man who was missing an arm with the other crippled tried helping her up and was giving us tips on how to clean her scrape. After helping us, he continued to walk with us and we all started to get a little weirded out because he seemed a little out of it. But just when things would seem awkward, he would make us laugh. He started talking to some guys on a motorbike and they asked for his name. He said, “my name is ManU.” The guys said, “ManU? What in the world kind of name is ManU??” and He said, “Manchester United, hahahahaha!” I KNEW Jihyun would appreciate that joke 😀 When we got to our place, he continued to follow us in and asked for water. Just when I got nervous, he stopped and asked to pray over our team. He thanked God for the new friends he made and the fresh water and asked God to humble us all because He is so great and glorious. Let me tell you—I sure was humbled. Thanks Uncle Jack J

Yesterday we went to a home for street children, then the school for the children! We sat in on their lunch-hour prayer time. It was so wonderful to worship the Lord with these children. The moment that brought tears to my eyes was when I saw beautiful children with no earthly parents lifting their hands to their Heavenly Father and singing, “Jesus, we are here waiting for You.” I was invited to come back to the school to help teach English, so I’m really REALLY excited for that!

Today is African Children’s Day! There was a parade with children singing and marching! It was so cool because Ali and I had been asking God to connect us with some new ministries, and we got the contact info for a school for children who are deaf and blind!! We’ll go there this week to learn sign language and to just love these children.
All morning, Ben and I got to hold 2 little boys whom we saw every day last week. We finally learned their names, Manuel and Immanuel. They are beautiful parentless brothers. We held them and sang to them songs of Jesus and His love and power. I’m so excited to see what this next week brings!
I’m not gonna lie and say this has been easy for all of us. Please continue to pray for our team that we would be protected from lies of the enemy and that we’d serve joyfully no matter what ministry we work with.
I’m so sorry I can’t upload any photos; the laptops I’m on are super old and don’t have sd slots :-/ you’ll just have to wait and see 😉
I love all of you and I’m so excited to fill you in again soon!
p.s. Read Psalm 139…love it.
