I’ve fallen in love…
…with sweat dripping down my brow.
…with only showering when necessary, not wanted.
…with pushing myself till I am about to drop from exhaustion.
…with dirt in my eyes, mouth, and the crevasse I didn’t know I had.
…with wearing my clothes multiple days in a row, and no one caring.
I’ve fallen in love…
…with the little dirty feet of the children.
…with the sound of joyous laughter at every face I make and every word I pronounce incorrectly.
…with their warm welcome and bright smiles.
…with their crazy, but undignified worship.
…with potatoes.
…with the sick children their parents bring to us so that we may pray for them.
…with the sick men and woman who hope is Jesus and strength is their desire to be home with their children.
…with the LRA survivors and the redemption Jesus has brought in their lives.
…with my teams contact, his family, and staff.
…with bugs in my food…mmhhh protein.
I’ve fallen in love…
…with hearing the sound of my baby sister saying, “Ally, I need you home.”
…with the letters I receive from my family and friends.
…with my new friends in Lira.
Ultimately, I’ve fallen in love…
…with my Savior whispering my name.
…with the strength, peace and rest that comes in Jesus’ presence.
…with renewed desire for His praises and leading others into praise as well.
…with silence.
…with struggles.
…with weakness, that’s when God is strong.
…with the Word and Truth that I wake up everyday and place my hope in.
…with praying, even when words don’t cut it.
…with praising my God on the roof top.
…with laying with arms stretched wide because of Jesus’ presence.
Yes, I’ve fallen in love with…LOVE.
