Hi Everyone! Wow, I can't even begin to explain how amazing this trip has been already! Our first day in Kampala was so great! We started off by leading a beautiful woman named Alice to the Lord 😀 It was so beautiful to see us explain the Gospel to her as a team, then we all celebrated by have a dance party with a ton of locals in the street!! The first Ugandan baby I held was named Ishan, and let me tell you, he sure was sweet. As we left at 6am for Lira, a little girl named Nusfah met me at the bus to say goodbye; I will never forget her. The bus ride was so fun!! Our driver Joseph was so sweet and Africans are seriously the best drivers ever! We saw monkeys and got to try our first taste of "road goat"–DELICIOUS! When we arrived in Lira, the staff from the place we're staying ran out to greet us, and I got a hug from each and every one of them! The last woman who greeted me was named "Jackie," and I said, "my mother's name is Jackie!" She exclaimed, "Oh! I am your mother now and you are my daughter!" Now every time Jackie sees me, she yells "Daughter, daughter!" and hugs me 🙂 The people here are so sweet. We've spent the past 2 days at Victory Outreach church, and today we got to see the Compassion children! It was so amazing to see how God uses the funds from donors to help these children–If you're looking to sponsor a child, Compassion International is seriously wonderful. The children were fed 2 meals and given seedlings and mosquito nets. I met a beautiful 5 year old named Hosanna. She found me both days and immediately sat on my lap and fell asleep in my arms. I was given the privilege of cleaning small wounds on her tiny legs and kissing her sweet forhead a million times. I love it here. God is doing amazing things. I love this team. We support each other so much and it is so evident that this team is here to serve and learn. Thank you so much for caring and praying friends. In the morning we will go to church and sing a song for the congregation! And monday is our down time, so be on the lookout for another update and some photos!! I love you all so much. Glory to God for getting me here. He knows my heart so well and has blessed me so much 🙂
