I AM still IS.

As I began to think of this trip and the “stories” I would tell, I realized I had none. I don't have a story of Jesus multiplying food, the blind seeing, the dead being raised, the deaf hearing…yet. I began to be frustrated. What would I tell the people? Has it been worth it? Of course it has because Jesus still loves His people. I've seen His love in so many people. The church, the hotel where I am staying, the market where I buy my clothes. Jesus loves His people. All is well with the world because God is still God. Creator of the Heavens, God. Speaks and life happens, God. Never changing, always good, God. That's who He is. The I AM.

A few days ago, Hannah Olsen (co-leader) and I went to a funeral in a small village. It was for a 10 year old girl poisoned by a witch doctor. Her parents believe she was poisoned on the way to school one day. She suffered for two weeks and passed away when her organs began to shut down. We walked in the funeral a little late. They sat us in the front of hundreds of people as we were “visitors.” The father spoke, other pastors and the headmaster of her school. Her classmates sat around the small wooden box. Her mother cried and clutched the youngest child.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”

God began to speak to me about that one child. How much he loves her. He kept saying, “she's with me now, she's with me now.”

There were literally hundreds of people from one small village mourning the death of a dearly loved child. God spoke to me about his care for ALL HIS SHEEP. I'd been so frustrated earlier this week because it felt like He did not care. I was asking so many whys. I was reminded of God's sovereignty and love for all of His children.

Jesus also said, “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” Matthew 18:14

How blessed was this little girl to grow up attending a school that taught her about Jesus and living with a family that loved her with the love of God.
The I AM still IS.
