Family: Coming Together

Hey everyone!

I gotta start by thanking everyone. My family, friends, coworkers, church, and everyone else who has contributed in ANY way to help send me to Uganda. I thank God for putting such awesome supportive people in my life!
It’s Monday June 4th and I have been in Georgia since Friday the 1st. Many of you that I talked to before leaving know that most of the anxiety I was having dealt with my team and trusting God and that He would bring the right people together. Praise God – He has. My team consists of 10 girls and 3 guys. We are from all over – the majority being southern – some from Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc. the term “y’all” may be part of my vocabulary by the time I get back to the states. Prepare yourselves for that.
We have done many interesting things that include: dance competitions, making art, climbing mountains carry logs, a surprise camp out using two tarps and a couple ropes, and spat in eachothers faces! That’s just a taste. And yes I said we spat in eachothers faces. We also shared stories with eachother about how God has showed up in our lives and ended up opening ourselves up to eachother more than I would have imagined. It’s a blessing to be with such selfless, open people.
My heart is going through alot right now but one things I’ve been learning is that God deserves our praise. He deserves to be glorified. The leaders at AIM have come together in a beautiful way with a vision that we are called to to worship God, one true God, THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS without holding back or ceasing. My team and I have been put into uncomfortable territory and went trough it together as a family. It’s amazing to see us really commit to eachother in such a short time. This is how God can and does work! 13 random people, with 13 random stories coming together with hearts to know God more and an openness to learn more about Him and invite Him in has proven to break down walls and change hearts – in 3 days!
So much has happened but I am truly overwhelmed by the life in this team and our openness with eachother. I am so EXCITED! Thank you all for reading and being such a big part of this journey. Hopefully I’ll get a better hang of this blogging thing throughout the next two months!
I love being here, I love this team – they are already in my heart – and I KNOW God is going to use us and speak through us all over the next two months. Can’t review this cause I’m rushed so sorry for mistakes! God bless you all! Please continue to pray over the team and for Uganda. We leave tomorrow!

Love you guys- and again thank you!!!!
