Hey I just met you, and this is crazy…

These past few days have been nothing short of a whirlwind.  Leading up to this weekend I have been so afraid of what this journeys holds, but after this weekend and encountering God I have never been so excited for my future. I have just met these 14 people and already I feel so close and can't wait to build this family relationship. So here are a few things I wish I knew before training camp: 1.  Everyone is scared- it's been so refreshing and reassuring to know that other people are feeling some of the same emotions and having the same fears as me. 2. I am more than...

It’s time for Africaaaa!!

In 25 hours we will be on a plane to UGANDA and I cannot wait to finally get there. Looking back on this past week I have learned a lot about God, community, and my authority and freedom in Christ. I have learned that God is so faithful. He has gone before us to Uganda and He has prepared the hearts of those we will be coming in contact with. We are fighting from victory, notfor it – that is so comforting to me! I expect God to show up and change my heart, change my life completely! It has also been great to meet the team and grow closer to each other every day. Because we are all so...

Stuck Like Glue

Hey ya'll! Yes, after being in GA for 4 days, I now say, "ya'll." I just want to give you a tiny glimpse of the beautiful people who are going to be by my side for this entire journey in Uganda.  Jake- He is approachable, friendly, and compassionate. He genuinely listens and cares about your hurts in life. Hunter- Lightens the mood, go-getter, a natural-born leader, and super tall! Little Ben- Super smart, articulate, creative. He always seems to be volunteered to be the leader, and he never says no to the opportunity to lead because he's desperate for...

Sleep Talking!

First off: Jesus is just so stinkin' amazing. This whole living in community thing has been much harder and much more amazing than I had anticipated. And we haven't even gotten to Uganda yet! I'm learning how to get alone time while not actually being alone. It's quite an art.  Training camp has exceeded my expectations-mainly because I didn't know what to expect- but it's been awesome. In the last 72 hours I have gotten to know these twelve people with more than depth that I have with people I've known for months. We've laughed (to the point of crying...

The land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE

Coming to training camp I was expecting to learn about Uganda. I thought I would learn about what ministry I would be a part of and what cultural experiances to expect. I was expecting to go through a bunch of "team bonding excersizes" that no one acctually cared about because we all just wanted to get into Uganda. HA little did I know what was really coming…. While I was informed on what to expect in Uganda, I was also informed on A LOT more. This training camp revieled to me that GOD IS FREEDOM. I've always known that God is powerful, but that fact has just been...
