I was SPAT upon!

Yup, that's right folks, I was indeed spat upon during training camp. Granted, the spitting was done in the name of a great team building exercise, but nonetheless. And in case you were wondering, the fun did not stop there! I have been at training camp since Friday and I have yet to change clothes. For those doing the math, that means that I have been flaunting the same outfit for four days now, lol. I also technically have not showered since last Thursday, but due to the frigid shower temperatures, no one else really has either, so it's all good....

HOTlanta

Hey everyone, actually it's been really cold here in Georgia but it's been an awesome weekend here in the wilderness of Georgia! I've met a ton of awesome people while being here, especially my team mates. They are some great people of God and I can't wait to spend the next 4 months living in community with them.       This weekend has definitely been fun getting to know some people but God has also done a lot on my heart this weekend and I've really been able to let go of some things that I've been holding on to for honestly way too long. So...

A Quick Reminder

To my dearly devoted blog readers- I know you have heard about it several times, but that is only because it is ridiculously important to me.  The topic?  The Van.  Yes, yes, the Alpha van.  Alpha is in desperate need of a new van.  The mechanical issues are numerous; nothing on the dashboard works, there are rust holes covering the floor, there is no heat or air conditioning, some of the windows don't close, the battery is in constant need of replacement, the van burns fuel like nobody's business, and just last night the engine was flooded.  It would...

Pretty pretty please

We still need your help raising money for "Waldo", a new van for Alpha. We have 4 more days to go and we need a good bit still. Please consider helping in any way. I can't think of any other people who deserve this new van. When i say the old one is falling apart, I mean literally. Any amount helps us out big time. If the 8 of us had the money, we would give it to them, but we don't, so we need help. The Deadline is December 8th. Thanks so much. If you've already contributed…thanks also You can give online this way: Go to Uganda Ministry Project...

The KCC

Oh the things we come up with while bored in Africa. We have invented countless games, played a number of card games, and just done some flat out crazy things due to boredom here. Half the time we have no explanation for the things we do or say, and simply blame it on being here in Africa. It might be the sun, but something here tends to make people go a little loco after some time.             Our leaders pow-wow every night for countess hours. We plan on watching movies together, but always have to wait till they’re done. By...

Woe to Me!

For the past 3 months we have been on our knees, crying out for God to show up here in Uganda. We are so desperate to see Gods kingdom collide with our small world. We have wanted to see, even if it was just a glimps, God in his glory. Well… this week it happened. God showed up. Really… there are no words to describe what happened. God is much bigger then our vocabulary but let me try to give you a small picture of what it looked like. We watched as people came face to face with Gods love and saw how it changed them. We celebrated with our new brothers and sisters. We...
