It’s Finally Here!

Woo… can’t believe we’re leaving the camp in 2 hours to get onto a flight to Uganda! I’ve been waiting for this moment for over 6 months and now that it’s finally here, it all feels SO surreal. I’m so glad that we prepared together in this training camp before we left. I’ve already learned so much about myself and my teammates. It is crazy to see how God has put us all together. We all bring so many different strengths and personalities to the team, but we are all focused on the same goal of serving the people of Uganda together! Right now, I...

It’s Time!

Its finally here! I am leaving for Uganda with an awesome team God has blessed me with. These past couple days God has shown me that you have to be willing to surrender things you are holding onto in your life to be able to move forward with Him. I cannot  wholeheartedly serve him, if my heart and mind are divided with distractions i left at home. God has chosen me for a reason and I am ready to love on his people. He is such a gracious God and I am so thankful .   “I became a servant of the gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power....

Omgosh!!!

I’ll start by saying this is the first time in my life that I actually feel the Son of God in my heart. The past two days I have let go of the strongholds that have been in my mind my whole life. They were keeping lies in and truth out. By God’s grace and mercy He continued pursuing me until I gave every last burden on my mind to Him. I’m seeing and experiencing his creation in a whole new way and now I know what everyone has been so excited about all these years!! I can’t wait to get out there with the authority of the Holy Spirit and see God move. He has shown...

Family in Christ

As I watched my team pray for Uganda last night I knew that we had become a family. It doesn’t seem possible that we could become that close in only 4 days, but somehow we had. We were praying for Uganda, we were praying for each other, and we were praising God together. Our team was hand-picked by the creator of the universe to do His work this summer and we are leaving training camp more prepared to do this.  God is going to rock the nation of Uganda this summer and I know that this team is going to do great things in the name of Jesus. We came to training camp as strangers and...

Operation Build-a-Team; SUCCESS.

Training camp is coming to a close and from my point of view, this weekend has been a huge success. My heart has been changed in a way I can’t describe, my relationship with the Lord has been strengthened to the highest degree. I have bonded with some wonderful men and women from all over that country that I feel blessed to now have as part of my life, part of my family for the next two months. I am so thankful that God hand picked these people to spend this time with. It is interesting how well we work together, and how each of us has been blessed with different gifts that will make...

My God is Stronger

Everyday, God wakes us up to fill us up yet again for another glorious day on His Earth. It is because of HIM that we have strength, love, patience, kindness and so many other great gifts. He is so humble that He gives us these things to share! God has shown me this these past 4 days in Georgia. After a night at a homeless shelter in downtown Atlanta where I gave my all (and not God’s all), the following night at the training camp left me completely broken. For those of you who know me, I am rarely a negative person. This particular night in that...
