I Wonder What My Insides Look LIke

Hello Bloggies!  Thanks for tuning in 🙂  I am so excited to tell you that tomorow is my LAST DAY IN THE STATES!  Woohoo, Uganda, here we come!  This weekend has felt like it's taken forever to find it's end, and now that it's finally here, I'm sad to see it go.  It has been so much fun getting to know my six lovely teammates and two fantastical leaders, and seeing the way God is moving makes me not want to leave this training camp.  Yesterday was probably my favorite day in training camp, and for a few really exciting reasons.  Yesterday...

An Adventure Already!

Training camp has been absolutely unbelievable! I could have never imagined how much God was going to move before our teams even left the country. I’ve learned so much from the teachings of the great leaders that God has placed here and I’ve learned so much from the other people around me. The time that we’ve have gotten to spend worshipping together has brought the Holy Spirit closer to me than I have ever felt before. I came into this camp with expectations of sitting and listening to boring informational speeches and a few sessions of learning more about God’s...

burdens we carry

My back is hevay with weight. The muscles in my shoulders straining to carry the burden I have chosen to place upon it. Everything I had placed in my luggage had been carefully chosen and the weight was necessary. There were things I had placed in my heart however, that were not selected out of care but out of fear. These things, these burdens were becoming to heavy to bear. Packing for a journey lasting three months has taught me about necessity; what would be critical to my living and what would only hinder me and slow me down. There's a passage in Isaiah that addresses the the...

Full To The Brim

Blog number one! Welcome to all those bloggers out there who have decided to partake in Zach Brown's breathtaking literature! The first few days have been great. Our training camp at the Adventures In Missions Headquarters has been different than I expected, and so much better for it. I envisioned long lectures and powerpoints about the culture and history of Uganda. Instead, it's been an incredibly empowering three days that have awakened my soul in a way I haven't felt in years. We've had a lot of rich community with each other...

cool runnings

Let me just start off by saying God is in this place and He's working tremendously in our lives. I've lost count of the days I've been here, what time it is, but I've become more aware of God moving in my life. I can already sense a change coming in not only my life, but my teams. The things I've been taught here are not only going to be valuable on the field, but valuable when I come home. Things like the true importance of community, feedback, speaking into people words/phrases/pictures God has given you for them.      I've been...

Faith of The Childlike

As I write this blog, I only have 9 more days of ministry in Lira. This is so hard to believe, I feel like I just arrived here. The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of emotional highs and lows. One thing has been consistent though, and that is God's goodness. No matter what situation I find myself in here I know that He has a plan for it all and it is ultimately for my good. So whether I think it is the best doesn't matter; because His ways are higher than my ways, and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. He is God and I am not. And the fact of the matter is no matter what my...
