There is More

I came to Uganda anticipating holding African babies and getting a good chaco tan. While I have done these things, I have also experienced so much more. I have seen more of God than I ever have before, more of His love and more of His power. I did not come here expecting to be radically changed, but that is exactly what has happened. God has changed me.

I have learned so much fom the people here. Just like Brittany said, they really do have a childlike faith here that we are so lacking in America. When these people pray for healing, they fully believe that God will bring healing. Since I've been here, I have seen God literally open deaf ears. When Jesus said that His children could ask for anything in His name and He would do it (John 14:11-14), He wasn't joking. Before this trip, I would have said that there is power in the name of Jesus, but it wasn't until coming here that I actually believed it.

God is powerful, and He allows us to see His power so that we can experience His great love. God heals because He loves. In His awesome power, we see His relentless love for His people. Just as I had never experienced God's power so much, I had also never experienced His love as intensely as I have since coming to Uganda. God wants intimacy with His children. He speaks to us, and He cares about anything and everyhing we are going through. I have seen this in other people here and their relationships with God, and I have experienced it in my own relationship with Him.

The beauty of all this is that God isn't just here in Uganda. He is everywhere. And I know God is going to continue changing me even after I go home. God is working all over the world, and He wants His Church to wake up and be a part of it. He will change us, and He will use us, if we are willing to let Him.
