The Power We Carry as Children of God (Part 2):

Luke 9:1-2

“When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them POWER and AUTHORITY to drive all demons, AND to cure diseases, AND he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God AND to heal the sick.”

Matthew 10:7-8

“As you go, preach this message, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is near.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Why would Jesus command His disciples to do these things if He wasn't going to fully equip them for it? Why as born-again believers do we walk around acting as if we are powerless to do these things?

I am the last person, to be worthy of coming to Africa and preaching the gospel. I was saved when I was 6 years old, but through course of events in my life, CHOSE not to fully walk as a child of God. Most people didn't even know that I was a Christian. I got drunk every weekend for 10 years. I lived with my ex-boyfriend out of wedlock, and I experimented with drugs. I did not believe I was worthy of God's love. However, God sent Jesus to die for us, because He loved us, even when we were STILL sinners. He loves you as you are! When I fully realized I didn't need to do anything to make me worthy of God's love, and that I was chosen, accepted, and secure….my life completely changed. I am fully redeemed because Jesus' blood washes me clean.

So as God's child, what does He command me to do? First, He commands me to preach the kingdom of God.

But I am too weak or feeble to preach, I didn't go to Bible school, and I am not a good public speaker. We can come up with 100 fears or excuses why we can't do it. The Lord's strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we can't do it in our own strength, He completely takes over, and that's what He wants. He wants us to be completely dependent on Him.

Matthew 10:19-20 – Do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”

Second, He commands us to heal the sick, cleanse those who have leprosy, and cure diseases.

Why, as believers, are we allowing our friends, neighbors, and family members to suffer through sicknesses or diseases when we have the power through the Holy Spirit to set them free? Get active! Rebuke those sickness and diseases, and speak healing and wholeness in Jesus name. Speak life over your loved ones, and don't allow the enemy to bring suffering. Jesus created us to be whole, and for our bodies to fully function. Suffering, sickness, and disease is from the enemy.

Third, He commanded us to drive out demons. People in Africa get this concept. There are many people who suffer from demonic spirits and they don't sugar coat it here…they call it what it is. And they don't allow their people to be tormented by these spirits. Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. God is greater! He is above all, and His perfect love casts out all fear!! I love that the believers in Africa, step out and use their authority. They cast out those evil spirits, and set the captives free, and we are called to do the same. (Luke 4:18)

Fourth, He commanded us to raise the dead. I know it sounds crazy, but with God ALL things are possible!! If Jesus did it, while He was on earth, why can't we?

John 14:12 – I tell you the TRUTH, anyone who has FAITH in me, WILL DO, what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. It's a promise Jesus has given us. He is always faithful…all we have to do is believe!

Jesus only speaks truth…this is His nature. John 14: 6 Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the TRUTH and the life. Why are we not taking God at His word? Smith Wigglesworth did and he raised 23 people from the dead in his lifetime.

Jesus made this promise to us. John 14:13-14 ?nd I WILL DO whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for ANYTHING in my name, and I WILL do it.”

Believers its time, to step out in faith, take God at His word, and do what He has commanded us to.

I told God I wanted to walk in all of His fullness, and do what He asks of me. I asked Him for His fullness and He told me I already have it. He has given us full access to His Kingdom. So why do we open the front door and stay stuck in the hallway, when we have the key to open ANY door? Access Heaven…use your key, and get the tools you need to free others, heal others, and bring them back to the King.
