After a week of being far away from all things familiar and comfortable it's hard to put into words everything that I'm feeling.. God has been working in so many ways and we have only been in Uganda for 7 days.
The Alpha Hotel staff goes above and beyond the normal human level of happiness, and I love it! The other day I decided to help Susan with the laundry. I think what was hardest to try to mimick was the insane bend that these strong African women have at their waist when working. There is absolutely no bend of the knees it is strictly waist and completely impressive. As my arms and knees literally starting shaking at my sad attempts to wash as well as Susan I was again reminded of how blessed I really am, and how this oppurtunity that God has given me is one I don't plan on taking for granted.
"Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves." 1 Chron. 16:21
Each day that goes on and as we continue to grow closer as a church, as a family, and as individuals I feel God's hand on us more and more. I really can not wait to see all that God has planned for these amazing people I have been placed with and even more so for the beautiful country of Uganda, and more specifically the city of Lira. These people have unexplainable joy that could ONLY come from Christ. I say that confidently because of the encounters of children with no shoes, mud hut homes, and no parents and yet their smiles are contagious and ever present!
God is good, and has great things in store this summer!
