Sweet Surrender

When we walked into our evening session on Saturday all 154 of us were handed an egg.  And we were all confused.  We were told that we couldn’t let the egg leave our person until ‘further notice.’  Trying to worship with that egg was a challenge.  I wish there were words to describe the incredible worship experiences we’ve had these past few days.  Lives have been changed, people have been pulled from places they didn’t even know they were and into the glorious joy and light that is Jesus.  It’s been amazing, incredible and awe inspiring to say the least.  When the music faded, our speaker, Kelly, challenged us with a talk on surrender.  She asked us to examine our lives and realize what we haven’t surrendered yet, and therefore what is keeping us from being all we can be for God.  We wrote these things on our eggs, and when we were truly ready to drop them and grab hold of Jesus, we put our eggs back into the carton and left them there.  Kelly described the terrifying moment between surrender and complete confidence in the Lord like the moment when a trapeze artist lets go of the first bar before he can reach the second.  It’s absolutely terrifying but if he didn’t let go of the first, he’d never be able to reach the second and finish his act.  He would swing back and forth grasping for the second bar, unable to reach it and eventually come to a grinding halt.  I don’t want anything but amazing from the Lord and know that I can expect just that these next few months.

I can’t wait to get going.. we leave in 8 hours!!!  Thank you so much for continuing to pray, the next update will be from Uganda, yay!!!  Love you all!
