One boy in Africa

After arriving in the country we set off to our dwelling place which is in the capital city, Kampala- I am suprised to see the beauty of this country, despite the burning of trash all around the street sidewalks and utter poverty all around- the nature, beautiful night skies and HUGE diversity of trees shows God’s handywork in this nation!

After a breif stay in Kampala, our team ventured off to the city of GULU, which is a recovering war zone from the attacks of the rebels 20 years earlier. God has used us in mighty ways so far!!!!!!! as we have presented the gospel around to 14 schools as well as a hospital and prison! The prison affected me in a way I will never be able to understand- my heart was filled with joyous tears after seeing twenty-some prisoners accecpt Jesus into their hearts.

I have interacted and ministered to so many studens, but one that stayed on my heart was a boy named Patrick. I listened and looked into his eyes, this 18 year old school boy who had seen his father shot, lost his mother in a house fire, no connection to any of his relatives and had no longer any means of paying for his education at highschool. The boy had lost sense of meaning in this world. I listened to him for an hour and prayed for his future, God was so present there with us that after I left I have absolute confidence that it was meant to be our team went to HIS school. Hope was filled with in this young boy after we left. It amazes me how the power of God’s love far exceeds any challenge we may face on this earth.
We are leaving for the town of Cabali tomorrow morning to do another week long school ministry-   excited to see what He has in store.. keep the prayers coming!! 🙂
