Hey I just met you, and this is crazy…

These past few days have been nothing short of a whirlwind.  Leading up to this weekend I have been so afraid of what this journeys holds, but after this weekend and encountering God I have never been so excited for my future. I have just met these 14 people and already I feel so close and can't wait to build this family relationship. So here are a few things I wish I knew before training camp:

1.  Everyone is scared- it's been so refreshing and reassuring to know that other people are feeling some of the same emotions and having the same fears as me.
2. I am more than equipped for this calling- while I may feel like I don't have the resume to go on this mission, I have God and He brings hope and if that's all I can give to the people of Uganda, then this trip is more than worth it.
3. Obedience is enough of a reason- everyone always asks why.  Why I'm here, why Uganda, why now, and I never really knew the answer until now.  I'm here because being obedient, even when I don't know what's ahead of me is all I can do.

I wish I had the words to fully describe this weekend and all the emotions that have tagged along but all I can say is we serve an awesome God and I am so ready for this trip!

"The lord is my strength and my song,
He has given me victory.
This is MY God and I will praise him —- my father's God,
and I will praise him."

Uganda, we're coming your way and we have your hope!
