Well, we have made it! After two flights and a stolen night
(time flies when you’re flying against time), we made it to
in the evening of the 10th. We had a wonderful African meal and a
good hot sleep under mosquito nets before getting up for a day of rest around
We knew that we would be splitting up the team of 24 to two
teams of 12, going to
the capitol city, and Lira, up north. However, we did not realize that the
northern part of
for a week of (more) missions with the churches mission team. Audrey Powell, my
co-leader, has been there before, so she traveled with the team up there. They
are settled in and excited about getting right into ministry today. Please be
praying for good rest at night, and energy during the day. God is going to show
His Kingdom through this team!
The Lira team is getting settled into their new home and are
currently playing with kids from Compassion International as I type this. We
are working with Victory Outreach Ministries, a very well established church,
supported by many churches from the
ministry schedule and are ready to jump in head first! Please be praying for
team unity and personal growth here in Lira. This team wants more of God, and
they will receive what they ask for!
Thank you for your prayers. I will be posting more blogs as
I get time, and your children/friends will be posting updates in the next few
days. Rest assured, they are safe and uncomfortable (I know that doesn’t make
you happy, moms, but trust me, it’s amazing.)
