Let me just start off by saying God is in this place and He's working tremendously in our lives. I've lost count of the days I've been here, what time it is, but I've become more aware of God moving in my life. I can already sense a change coming in not only my life, but my teams. The things I've been taught here are not only going to be valuable on the field, but valuable when I come home. Things like the true importance of community, feedback, speaking into people words/phrases/pictures God has given you for them.
I've been blown away at how powerful the presence of God is. You can feel it and see it…God just radiating from our lives. There's so much anticipation and excitement of being able to take all this stuff out to our countries tomorrow; actually being able to put into practice what we've been taught. Uganda will not only be changed, but our team will be too.
There's so much joy in this place…a joy that can't be described any other way than true joy from the Lord. Joy because we know change, big change is coming and we're ready. Joy because we are building a family with each other. We know we are going to have our highest highs and our lowest lows with these people, but by the end of it, we'll be united with a bond you can't describe. A joy that just comes from realizing God loves you and is for you, and that you are capable of being on this journey..
Future Real Lifer's: be prepared for your world to be rocked within the first 48 hours. Don't come in with any expectations and be ready to dance a dance of joy.
So whether or not we're ready, or Uganda's ready, we're coming…and we're bring the presence of the Lord with us.
P.S. the title comes from our God speaking time. A guy I was paired up with had a minute or so to speak out what God was telling him for me to hear. All he got was "cool runnings. Enjoy the journey" If you've seen the movie cool runnings, you'll understand why that's hilarious
