The Beginning of an Adventure

Hey everyone, it’s David.  This is my blog where I will be telling you all about the great things that God is doing in Uganda. This one is kind of on the fly so it will be short.  Right now we are at the Adventures In Missions training center in Georgia.  But we did not come straight here from the airport. We spent our first night, Friday night, in Atlanta Georgia. That night before bed we went out on the streets of Atlanta to find people and speak to them. We each got a dollar to spend on someone. That night was very powerful and I feel we really were able to help some...

The Breaking of Expectations!

Since landing in Atlanta 5 days ago there has been a constant breaking down of expectations on our part as a team. This comes in the form of what we expected to do and how we expected to experience God on this trip. But the reality is that God is unique and likes to mix it up a bit. We came into Atlanta expecting to get right on buses to travel to training camp, but the reality is that we actually traveled to the Safe House where we ended up on the streets sharing the Good News to homeless and other individuals that we found. My God is Stronger

Everyday, God wakes us up to fill us up yet again for another glorious day on His Earth. It is because of HIM that we have strength, love, patience, kindness and so many other great gifts. He is so humble that He gives us these things to share! God has shown me this these past 4 days in Georgia. After a night at a homeless shelter in downtown Atlanta where I gave my all (and not God’s all), the following night at the training camp left me completely broken. For those of you who know me, I am rarely a negative person. This particular night in that...

My Summer Family

Although it has only been 4 days, I feel like I’ve known my team forever! To be completely honest, I wasn’t super excited about training camp, I was just so ready to be in Uganda- but these past few days have truly been a blessing! Since the first day, our team has had AWESOME unity. From evangelizing to the homeless on the streets of downtown Atlanta to making a human pyramid during team building to painting our mission for the trip on a huge canvas- we are all continuously praying for each other, encouraging each other, and loving on each other! I had a really hard time...

In The Beginning

Week one is training camp.  Obviously upon arrival we didn’t really know what to expect or what we were getting into.  Honestly, this training camp has been a very interesting week!  So many emotions and lessons learned – and we haven’t even seen a plane.  My emotions started out as that of much uncertainty and I wanted so badly to be done with it all so we could just go.  But I love how God and the people of AIM scheduled this week for us knowing how much we would need it whether we wanted it or not!  Things move kinda slow at times and...
