No Fear Response

Wow. If training camp could be summed up in such an inadequate word, it would definitely be that one. I came with certain expectations of what God would do on this trip, that I didn’t even realize I had. I expected to meet awesome people, have a great time, and watch God move. What I wasn’t prepared for was the magnitude at which God was going to rock us, even before we left the country. I expected to be stretched challenged, and to grow in the Lord. All of these things have happened, as we have practiced eating smaller portions of certain ethnic foods, eating with our hands...

My Summer Family

Although it has only been 4 days, I feel like I’ve known my team forever! To be completely honest, I wasn’t super excited about training camp, I was just so ready to be in Uganda- but these past few days have truly been a blessing! Since the first day, our team has had AWESOME unity. From evangelizing to the homeless on the streets of downtown Atlanta to making a human pyramid during team building to painting our mission for the trip on a huge canvas- we are all continuously praying for each other, encouraging each other, and loving on each other! I had a really hard time...

After a night at a homeless shelter in downtown Atlanta where I gave my all (and not God’s all), the following night at the training camp left me completely broken. For those of you who know me, I am rarely a negative person. This particular night in that...

Sweet Surrender

When we walked into our evening session on Saturday all 154 of us were handed an egg.  And we were all confused.  We were told that we couldn’t let the egg leave our person until ‘further notice.’  Trying to worship with that egg was a challenge.  I wish there were words to describe the incredible worship experiences we’ve had these past few days.  Lives have been changed, people have been pulled from places they didn’t even know they were and into the glorious joy and light that is Jesus.  It’s been amazing, incredible and...

In The Beginning

Week one is training camp.  Obviously upon arrival we didn’t really know what to expect or what we were getting into.  Honestly, this training camp has been a very interesting week!  So many emotions and lessons learned – and we haven’t even seen a plane.  My emotions started out as that of much uncertainty and I wanted so badly to be done with it all so we could just go.  But I love how God and the people of AIM scheduled this week for us knowing how much we would need it whether we wanted it or not!  Things move kinda slow at times and...
