A Proud Big Sister

We have officially been in Busia, Kenya for 17 days….that's it…really?! God has been on the move in unexpected ways. When I first met our team, they were all so quiet. I thought to myself it make take quite some time for them to get used to each other and for ministry to get rolling. I was completely wrong. They have jumped in with both feet, not truly knowing what they have gotten themselves into, but have jumped regardless. I love this team because they don't give up, and they have been that way since training camp. They see all of the craziness and messiness of this Real Life trip and they STAY. They refuse to leave the table, no matter how challenging it can be, or how out of the ordinary it is, compared to what they are used to. They walk with fiery spirits and they don't back down.

Tara, she has the gift of inviting the locals into our community. She makes them smile, laugh, and feel comfortable around us. Ashlee has such a hunger for the Lord that is evident. The local women love being around her! She always gets invited to everything : ) Hope serves people with the most gentle spirit. She pushes the rest of us to be servants just by her wonderful example. Zach likes to get his hands dirty and do whatever it takes to meet the physical needs of the people. The men of the church really bond with him. Lacey has a very sweet and comforting spirit. Children love to sit on her lap, they feel so much peace, they just fall asleep. Chelsea has a passion for God that is contagious. She pushes people to more intimacy with the Lord, and she has the biggest heart for Africa I have ever seen. Micah is the scholar and he has a gift for being a peacemaker. He sees both sides of an issue and does his best to make a fair point. Cameron is very witty and she definitely has a gift for teaching and preaching. Shae is very keen when it comes to things of the Spirit. She carries a lot of strength and is releasing that strength in others. Last but not least, there's Kaitlyn. She has a love for the word of God and she drives others to spend more time in the word. She's also a really good administrator, she makes sure that things get done.

In conclusion, God knew what He was doing when He placed all of us together. God gave me a word before this trip that my joy would be complete, and He has been faithful every single day since I have been in Kenya : )
