So when we arrived in Kampala Uganda we found out that we were going to Gulu to do school ministry. At one of the secondary schools (high school), a group of kids too young to even be in elementary school came in from their village to see what was going on. This cute little girl walked straight up to me and sat down beside me. She couldnt have been more than two years old and was wearing torn muddy clothes. After a few minutes she got up and sat down in my lap. My heart just broke!
I sat there just holding and loving on this little girl, wondering what she was thinking as played with my bracelets and examined my white skin. Where would she go after i left, what would her future look like, would she have money to even go to school, would she have hope and joy in a land that was recovering from 20 yrs of war, does she have a family to take care of her? When it was time to leave and as we drove away, i watched her run back to her village.
I dont know what will happen to her or where she will end up but i do know that she is a child of God! The little bit of love i have for her couldnt compare to how God sees and loves her. I know that God will watch over her just as he does for each and every one of us! What an amazing FATHER!
“In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”
