I might offend somebody with that title, but it's okay.
So, let me tell you the weirdest experience of my life. Ever.
So, we help at a church which is pretty cool and they love us and we love them. They invite us to bbig important events and of course we want to be a part of that kind of stuff so we go. Typically it's pretty cool and fun, and we get a chance to build relationships and stuff.
Well, last Friday they had a "youth prayer night". Which I thought was going to be equivalent to a youth lock in.
Oh, how I was so wrong. It really was a youth prayer night. Ben Campbell, rashida, Julia, Jake, hunter, and myself were the only ones that went, and all of us had to prepare a short word to speak.
So we arrive at 10pm and they had already started but we are late to just about everything so that's okay.
Around eleven I grab my iPod and journal find a corner and start to pray, well I fell asleep and by the time I woke up it was twelve…whoops.
Well, anyways we transition to preaching and then worship and then prayer and just typical church. Well then it's about five am and the leader calls everyone to get in a circle so we can pray and go home and rest. Praise the lord. Who's exhausted? Me. So we get up and start praying for each other, pretty normal, and then all of a sudden, Noah the African who is leading this thing calls one girl into the circle and says let me pray over you. "okay, we'll pray over her and be done." or so I thouht… As we are about three minutes into praying for this chick homegirl let's out a scream and falls backwards. IM NOT KIDDING. I could have peed my pants a little. I have never seen anything like it only heard stories that I was skeptical of believing. I was behind the girl and apparently was supposed to catch her but didn't know it. I was to busy hiding behind a pillar with a face of fear. Then once the girl got up, Noah saw my face of fear and said "come, let me pray for you." uhm…. Are you sure you wanna pray for me? Cause I don't know about that.
Just to clarify, I don't disagree with this stuff. It is just very new to me and I have never seen anything like it. Only heard stories. So the Holy Spirit is slowly teaching
me new things and God is opening my heart to the different ways He makes Himself shown.
