Teee Eye Aaayyy

T.I.A.

This. Is. Africa.

Forget clean clothes, feeling like you’re clean when you get out of the shower, air conditioning, reliable transportation, talking to your family, and don’t even THINK about expecting someone to be on time. This Is Africa, and every sacrifice is one-hundred percent worth it when a beautiful child smiles up at you, and you can see pure joy in their eyes.

I have been priveleged to be working this week within Fountain Primary School, a school that specializes in Christian counseling for children traumatized by the civil war. Many of the children have been in camps, some were formally child soldiers, some are orphans. It is a school of 640 children craving love, and I am so appreciative that God brought me here to be one of the deliverers of that love. In just one week I have learned alot– from teaching with much fewer resources than in the united states to Ugandan dances, songs, and some conversational skills in Luo, the language they speak here in Lira.

I have established many relationships in the last week–both with adults and children–and am very excited to see how they grow!

Hopefully soon I will be able to post a video of my precious fifth graders doing tootie-ta! (Haha Mom)

I love and miss you all so much!
