We climbed a mountain today, the same mountain we intended to climb last week. The wait was really worth it, and the experience didn't fail to measure up to the ideal in my mind. It took time, but not a very long time. I got some cuts and bruises, but that's all part of the territory. The top of the mountain gave a glorious panoramic view of the landscape, and if not for the vast amount of green we beheld, it seemed somewhat akin to the Valley's terra in Arizona. It was a very plesant experience, and a great way to spend the day off. I read through a bit of Job while on the mount, gaining a new perspective on God's questions to Job about measuring out the earth's borders and the mountains' roots. Being up so high causes a big pitfall to one's pride; you can't help but feel so small in the face of such greatness.
For all my Kuyper peeps out there (if any of you read this blog) I saw a local wearing the Kupyer "Continual Worship" purple tee from freshman orientation this past year. It was hilarious, and I had to do a double take. I'll have my eye on the lookout for him so I can snap a picture next time. We shall see.
I'd like to use the remainder of this post to thank everyone for commenting on my posts; your words give me such joy and encouragement, and I read them all in their entirety.
