“As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” (1 Corinthians 12:20)
It is amazing how God has been working through the body of Christ that Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians 12. It is becoming very clear that we all have different gifts and that God has arranged us to be right where He wants us to be. Some of us are gifted with intercession while others are gifted with evangelism. Some of us are gifted with encouragement while others are gifted with knowledge. And each person, with each gift, is necessary for our team to function as one body. And also, as a whole body of believers and followers, it is the same.
We were blessed this week with the opportunity to serve alongside a team from Oregon. Many of them are actually from my home church. It was incredible to see how God brought together our teams to function as one unit to bring glory to God and bring His Kingdom “on earth, as it is in heaven.” This team came to put on a crusade, where we visited schools, prisons and hospitals to share the Good News of Jesus. Many people made the decision to give their lives to Christ. And, from this, the Lord gave our AIM team a singular vision–one which continues the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of these new believers. We want to take time to re-visit many of the secondary schools a couple of times each week to break into small groups with the students. The Lord has put it on our hearts to walk alongside them and teach them what it truly means to be a believer and follower of Christ. We have been called to disciple them and to raise up leaders among them who will be able to continue discipling their peers after we have left. It is so great to see the team offering up their individual gifts and passions to work toward the same purpose–and a purpose which we wholeheartedly believe is God’s will for the remainder of our time (in addition to the ministries we are already dedicated to).
I am so excited to see the fruit of these smaller discipleship groups! I am so excited to see where the Lord will continue to lead us and use each of our individual gifts as one body with a united vision. The Lord is speaking and we continue to be blown away by how much listening to Him can impact our individual lives, our team, our ministry, this town, and this country. Praise the Lord!
