Living Rain

"Living rain, fall again. Over my life over my land. Living rain wa–"

I was suddenly distracted from listening to one of my favorite songs by Parachute Band to see one of my team mates, Haddie grab her guitar and head outside into the rain. Let It Rain was her go to song, it looks like there was a common theme. My other roomies and I crowded around the door watching the rain fall, and then pour. One by one we ran out into the courtyard and joined her in worship and praise.

As thunder filled the sky, adoration filled my heart. God is here. God is present in Uganda. During an earlier worship session that night I begged for the Holy Spirit to come, and he surely did. Before I know it I'm on my knees in the flooded courtyard praising God. Rain and tears fall down my face, my clothes are completely drenched, but my heart is completely satisfied.

I haven't even been in Uganda for a week and I've heard and felt the weight of this country's burden. They are working through so much brokenness, so much healing needs to occur. The devil is very present in this country, but God has brought all of my team together, and we aren't going down without a fight.

Thunder clashes. I'm yelling out to God asking that He would bring a storm to the hearts of Uganda. Hands raised. Begging the Lord to move the people of Lira. Like He brought a storm to this city I ask that He brings a storm to the hearts of Lira.

This is real worship. I look over to see blood streaming down Haddie's guitar, but yet she continues to play. The Lord's mightiness, power, and strength are present. We continually sing Let It Rain over and over and over. Until we can't sing anymore. This is God at His finest. This is real. Like God pours rain into Lira He pours living rain into our hearts.
