To say that training camp has been full of delicious “last” meals, wonderful rest, and luxurious housing might be a stretch of the imagination. The AIM staff has made sure that our teams get a taste (literally) of the different cultures and lifestyles we will be experiencing the next two months. Other than unique food experiences this camp has been full of God’s absolute presence and incredible team bonding and unity unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of. Fear and Doubt and past Shame have been consuming my thoughts and heart during this camp. We talked multiple times about DAILY SURRENDERING all these things to the Lord and trusting enough to leave it with Him. If not for the love and prayers of my team and our leaders I would not have the comfort and the peace of destroying the lies in my head. As we are coming to the end of camp I can say that my team and I are more than stoked to head to Uganda! Bring on the new food, Bring on the new culture, Bring on the people of Uganda and Bring on any lies that think they have a place in our minds because OUR GOD IS BIGGER!
“The bible is not the basis of missions, missions is the basis of the bible;
The stories in the bible are great, but the story of the bible is even more important”
Love you all! THIS IS AFRICA 🙂
