I’ve been charged with involuntary DUCK-slaughter

With deep remorse, guilt and shame, I am sad to say that I have ACCIDENTALLY ended the life of one of our precious duck pals “Florence”. It was a cool afternoon with heavy, heavy rain falling. The ducks Ferguson and Florence had just been transported inside to our bathroom for a rendezvous with a warm towel where they were feeling very balmy and toasty.

This where it gets graphic. As I was capping off a scolding hot shower I may or may have not smashed the living daylights out of our female duck friend Florence with my size 13’s. The sound that poor poultry made will haunt me for the rest of my adult life.

After the initial crushing, John ran in to unveil the damage that had been done and to survey the situation. As he revealed the duck covering, we saw a defenseless, pitiful and crying Florence who was flopping around in distress across the bathroom floor. We pondered for a moment as to what to do with the poor defenseless animal. We made a unanimous decision to put the infant foul out of it’s misery.

We then cradled the wounded duckling across the lawn to a secluded area where we planned to decapitate the animal with a machete. But, as we were nearing our slaughtering ground. Our cook Susan halted us in our tracks and convinced us to let her try to save the duckling’s life. But, by the time the discussion ended the duck had finally surrendered it’s life and gave up the fight.

So, Susan took the dead duck to the kitchen…to try and warm it up so that she may be able to resuscitate the lifeless carcass. Needless to say, her attempts were futile. Thankfully. We don’t need any zombie ducks waltzing around Alpha acting like they own the place.

In the end, the duckling was placed on the edge of the kitchen wall and will be given up for eating to the wild night dogs…….and cats. But, hopefully the dogs. So, I would like to send my deepest apologies to the duck community and it’s board members. I hope that you will have mercy on me and recognize that my actions were out of line and do not reflect the policies of Adventures in Missions towards water foul.

Again, I am so so sorry about this atrocity. I think the passing of Florence is a reminder to us all that time is running out (for some, sooner than others) and we must give our lives in service. John 9:4. At this moment, I declare that I will surrender my life to advocating for sleeping, cozy, defenseless ducklings and their families.

Thank you everyone for your support.

P.S. We still have one semi-functional duck. And, thats a lot more than some people can say.

Also, on saturday we attended our friends Sam & Dorine wedding in which we had prepared a medley of songs to perform. But, on the morning of the wedding they asked me to be in the wedding!!! haha so I was a groomsmen in an African wedding! It was a fun time and the pictures of me in the wedding party are absolutely rediculous. Just wanted to add that little bit of tid bit in there.

Bye bye!
