I Won’t Back Down

One of the many things to do as a Christian, is just do what you are called to do. Sometimes Satan will, try to stop you but you need to persevere through that, and continue what the Lord called you to.
This past Sunday, I did just that.

For the longest time, God has been telling me to sing in church. I prayed about this, because, speaking, much less singing in church, is not something I’m extremely comfortable with. God told me I need to speak with Pastor Johnson, our ministry contact, about it. I found him outside his home and talked to him about it, and he got very exited and told me I should sing, that following Sunday. I thought to myself, “Wow!!!!!! Okay God, this is what you called me to do, I shall do it.”

I prayed about what I should sing, and I the Lord told me one of my favorite songs, “Our God” by Chris Tomlin. I went to. Praise and worship practice on Saturday and practice the song and the even one of the Africans new the song so he song backup. I know I was ready and I was getting very exited.

Well, Sunday morning I got up I got prepared to go do what I was asked to do. We did our morning prayers till it was time for breakfast. As I we were heading toward the room where we usually eat, I fell. I hyperextended the big toe on my left foot. Satan, tried to stop me, but I wouldn’t back down. I still went to church, sang, and even limped along to do door-to-door ministry with my team. I would not let my toe, or Satan, keep me from doing what the Lord asked of me.

Today my toe is swollen and colored black and blue, but it hasn’t defeated me yet. I will continue to do what was asked of me.

1 Peter 4:16-19
16″However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear his name”17″For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God.”18″And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”19″ So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.”
