Yup, that's right folks, I was indeed spat upon during training camp. Granted, the spitting was done in the name of a great team building exercise, but nonetheless. And in case you were wondering, the fun did not stop there! I have been at training camp since Friday and I have yet to change clothes. For those doing the math, that means that I have been flaunting the same outfit for four days now, lol. I also technically have not showered since last Thursday, but due to the frigid shower temperatures, no one else really has either, so it's all good.
Let's see….there have been dance parties, and dance-offs (which sadly my team and I did not win). There have been indoor Freestyle Canoeing competitions preformed to "Just Around the Riverbend". For those of you who have never been exposed to Freestyle Canoeing, look it up on YouTube right this moment. Be sure to also keyword "Lady in Red". Your life will be changed for the better, I promise! But on the more serious side of training camp, there have been some awesome sessions of worship every morning and evening. I've gotten to hear many impactful messages spoken by some AmAzInG people of the Lord; each message causing me to examine myself closer that I have in quite sometime. I have cried, laughed, been challenged, and pushed out of my comfort zone already!
It's crazy to think about the amount of growth that I and my fellow teammates have experienced in only four short days. We leave TOMORROW!!!! Woo Pah!! I am SUPA DUPA pumped to see how the Lord will work through my team and I during our four months in Lira. I'll be posting on here about once a week, so be sure to stay tuned! Thanks for keeping up with my blog, and keeping me in your prayers, as I embark on my new mission field. I will be praying that you are blessed on your mission field as well, no matter where that may be!
Peace and Blessins!
