I Praise you In this Storm

Hey all you blog readers

Soooo This week has been fairly awesome. On Thursday we got to go SWIMMING… yes SWIMMING in a real pool. It was pretty great and a real blessing from God as I had been struggling with the intense heat. On Friday night God was working in wonderous ways. I had been doubting a bit whether he was really hearing my prayers or not. I had been praying for rain like none other… because this Canadian girl had had ENOUGH of the scortching heat. Near the end of the night we were talking about how great it would be if it rained. All of the sudden we started feeling rain drops, so we all stood up and started singing let it rain!!! It was incredibe to see God give us something so simple. My faith definately was definately boosted at that moment. Saturday was a compassion day, and that afternoon we were taking some time to reflect the day, and once again it RAINED!!! It was so awesome because it completely cooled off the air. Needless to say i LOVED it!
On monday we spent some time at the church and that afternoon i was sitting talking with our team, and I saw 5 little kids poke their head around the corner. I went over to see them, but one of the men chased them away from the church. They came back a second time and so I went up to them and picked up a little girl named ruth. She was 2 years old and was beautiful, even though she was covered in dirt and smelled like she hadn't showered in weeks.
I was in the middle of talking to them, when the same man came  up to me with a big stick. He told me to not bother with those children, as they were dirty, diseased, and would steal from me. I proceeded to tell him that every child deserved to be loved regardless of where they come from, and that I could be friends with the children that I wanted to be with. ( I said it nicely) He proceeded to come after them with the big stick and they ran into a back alley. I followed them after he left and went and spent more time playing with them. It just really broke my heart that these street kids were treated like parasites.
On tuesday I got the opportunity to cook with the ladies in the kitchen at Alpha. It was SO awesome to get to spend thaat time with them and bond with them. I offered to teach them how to make some Canadian food and they were right on board! I cant wait!!!

Anyways things are going good, I'm still kickin so no worries mom and dad! Love you all so much
