God is AmaZing

Hey everyone!  God is doing so much here in Africa.  So I'll try and tell you all about it.  The first week we got here we went to do school ministry.  The north is beautiful. Everything is very green and lush and the sky is amazing.  While there we went to about 15 different schools to do school ministry.  We went with a local team from a church in Bugolobi a city right next to Kampala.  Everyone from the team was great and I enjoyed working with them.  What we did was go to different schools in the area of Gulu and did programs there.  First we would have some dancing to music to draw their attention to the area we were holding the event outside.  Then we did a few worship songs, did a skit or two.  After we asked a few students what they learned from the skit and alot of their answers were very good.  Afterwards one of us would share a short message and we would have an alter call.  Many of the students did seem to have some idea who Jesus was but Gulu had been disturbed by war up until recent, just the past few years.  Some of the kids had been impacted very much by the war and some had even been captured by the rebels.  Yet now the area is stable and some students are now looking for something because they Jesus is missing in their lives.  Hundreds came to the alter call and I got to pray and talk with many of them.

While we were setting up one day, I was watching as a very large storm was moving our way.  I watched as it got closer and closer.  I knew if it reached us we would not be able to witness to the kids.  So I took a look at the clouds as a few drops started to come down and I started to pray with another team member that it would not rain, but for some reason also that enough would stay to block the sun and stop the heat.  After about a thirty second prayer I looked at the sky and the clouds were moving in the completely opposite direction.  Yet just enough stayed to cool down the area and block the sun.  There is no doubt in my mind that what I saw was an outright miracle.  Also at that same school a student came up to me and told me he was a follower of Islam but that he saw me doing a little dance to draw the other students and was really interested in what it was we had to offer and what made us different even though he wasn't sure about the whole Christian thing.  So I talked with him a bit and just asked him to watch and see what we had to offer.  Then during the alter call he came to me and asked me to bring him to the alter.  So I did and he accepted the Lord.  Those are just a few of the many things God did in Gulu.

So after leaving Gulu and getting back to Kampala for a few days we headed out again to the southwest part of Uganda to a place called Kabali.  That is where we did ministry this past week.  I think Kabali is even more beautiful then Gulu.  There where massive hills everywhere and we got to drive through them on our way to the schools.  It was the most amazing place I've ever been.  I continue to be awed by Gods creation.  God did so much there as well.  We went to more schools and God continued to use us. At one school I was asked to give the message that day.  So I did and not only did many students want to know the Lord several of the teachers did that day as well. God used me that day and the words I spoke were truly not my own, they came from the Holy Spirit.  While there we met some Americans who where teachers there.  That was cool and we got to fill them in on world events.  Since Kabali is in a very rural area they hadn't heard anything in awhile.  It was cool getting to see fellow Americans all the way out in the hills.  We are back in Kampala for at least a week and I cant wait to see what God does next.
